women founders retreat

The Of Two Minds retreats for women founders, co-hosted by PALMA Colectiva and State of Feeling, is a thoughtfully curated experience for founders seeking to further align their businesses with their heart's calling. The name, Of Two Minds, speaks to the duality between reconciling one's spiritual calling with their life choices and chosen career path. It can be described in many ways, like the call to evolve outdated systems and the tension between being and doing.

This retreat invites us to return to ourselves and the land, embracing uncertainty as a gateway to opportunity—fueling creativity, resilience, and ways of understanding that transcend the day-to-day grind. In the quiet of Zaca Lake, we'll find spaciousness in reflection, grounding in community, and strength in vulnerability. We'll embrace the full spectrum of what it means to be a woman founder, a leader, and a human in these challenging times. With space to pause, we'll reconnect to the truth that all we need already resides within us—and from that place, the future vision for our lives and businesses becomes clearer.

The Space We’ll Share

Location

Location

zaca lake —Santa Ynez Valley, California

Zaca Lake is a 320 acre private sanctuary surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest. Located less than an hour north of Santa Barbara, Zaca Lake is just off of Foxen canyon road, one of the most distinguished wine trails in Santa Ynez Valley. Gentle rolling hills dotted with ancient oak trees lead you to the entry of Zaca Lake — the gateway to the San Rafael wilderness.

A rare, natural spring-fed lake is at the center of the property. Once believed to be created by the supernatural, this ancient body of water can be enjoyed year-round by guests.

Nestled under a canopy of redwoods, a series of cabins line the north side of the lake. Every building has been meticulously restored to bring comfort and luxury to all guests.

WELLNESS

Each wellness activation will be mindfully planned to enhance and integrate the theme of the workshops. We will begin each day with a gentle Kundalini practice with Abigail Lorick of Align From Within. Abigail’s approach strays from the traditional sense as she organically blends breath, mantra and yoga with ceremonial music and practices. Other rituals throughout the retreat include a Cacao Ceremony, Breathwork and Sound Bath.

One evening we will get to indulge in holistic treatments at the Lavender Barn Spa at The Inn At Mattei’s Tavern, an award winning spa with a thermal experience of sauna, steam, hot tubs, cold plunge and outdoor baths. Each guest will choose either a 60 min massage or facial.

Created by Roanne Adams, State of Feeling process is facilitated in retreat settings, immersed in nature, though its impact extends beyond this singular experience. It integrates various modalities, from self-reflection to group conversations, to somatic movements.

Our workshop is a blend of leadership development and healing experience, offering a comprehensive approach to personal and professional growth. Through guided meditations, interactive exercises, and reflective writing and discussions, you’ll explore your strengths, values, and areas for growth, gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, your leadership style and your vision for the future.

Who We Are

Of Two Minds began as a conversation between friends craving alignment between our professional and spiritual journeys. Like many business owners, we found ourselves caught in a cycle of stress and burnout, which became the catalyst for a spiritual awakening—a knowing we could never return to business as usual. From this desire to share our experiences, this retreat was born and we love bringing together business owners, collaborators and practitioners who are bridging the spiritual, regenerative and business worlds.

How should i prepare for the retreat?

Reflect on Intentions: Think about what you want to achieve during the retreat. Is it personal healing, connection with others, or clarity on your business or personal life?

Pack Mindfully: Bring comfortable clothing suitable for various activities, including yoga, meditation, or group sessions. Bring layers! It can be warm during the day and the temperature can also drop dramatically at night.

Digital Detox: Plan for limited device use. Be ready to minimize phone and computer use. Inform your family, team or clients that you will be unavailable.

Set Boundaries: Decide ahead of time what communications you want to manage before, during and after the retreat. We recommend not doing work and not checking in with your team while on the retreat, and giving yourself space to integrate post retreat.

Be open to new experiences: Prepare to embrace new ideas, practices, and connections.

Practice Vulnerability: Be ready to share your experiences and challenges with others, fostering deeper connections.

How do you curate retreat guests?

All guests invited to the retreat have been pre-vetted and are part of the State of Feeling community. We also welcome applications as new guests. Given the volume of applications, selection is based on who we believe is the best fit for the retreat’s theme and the existing group dynamic.

Am I allowed to bring my phone?

Yes, you can bring your devices, but we encourage you to use them sparingly during the retreat. To promote complete presence, we will collect phones during yoga, workshops and ceremonies.
